Our goal is to provide people within our community access to education, training, and awareness so that they have the skills to help those around them in times of need.
Providing education and awareness training enables our community, your community, to better support others, identify signs, and help prevent individuals from taking their own lives.
Suicide is a confronting, yet ever-so-prevalent issue:
Suicide is the leading cause of death in Australia for individuals ages 15 to 44. (1)
In 2022, there were 3,249 deaths by suicide. (2)
We lose 9 people to suicide each day. (2)
For every death by suicide, there is an estimated 30 attempts made.(3)
1 in 6 Australians aged 16 to 85 have experienced serious thoughts about taking their own life at some point in their lives. (4)
Proper training and education are out of reach for many people, but with your help and support, we can take a small yet powerful step towards improving and saving lives.
Mental health is all-encompassing; it’s diverse, it’s unique, but most importantly, it’s important.
We are encouraging anyone and everyone to join us on The Bay Run on December 23rd to help raise money and awareness for this cause.
All you have to do is set a distance for yourself and run, jog or walk it on the day.
We have individuals going 5km, 20km, 50km and 100km! No distance is too near or far.
Can’t make it on the day? You’re still invited!
We will have people participating throughout the state, interstate and overseas! You don’t need to be on The Bay Run - you just need to get out and give it a go!
Click the button below and let others know your distance!
We’re encouraging all participants to donate your distance!
Whether you’re going 1km or 100km, every dollar invaluably contributes to the cause.
You can also share the GoFundMe link with friends and family, tell them how far you’re going and ask them to donate to show their support for you on the day.
Every dollar donated will be used to organise and provide mental health and suicide training for those who wish to learn, make a difference and make a change.
If you’re interested in attending one of these sessions, please see the bottom of this page for details.
